It is a dry, spicy, and tangy dish made with cauliflower florets that are deep-fried and then tossed in a flavorful sauce. Gobi Manchurian can be served as an appetizer or a side dish, and it goes well with steamed rice or noodles. In this blog recipe, I will show you how to make Gobi Manchurian at home. Ingredients: For the Gobi: 1 medium-sized cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup cornstarch 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon red chili powder Salt to taste Water, as needed Oil, for deep-frying For the Manchurian Sauce: 2 tablespoons oil 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum (bell pepper) 2 green chilies, finely chopped 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon chili sauce 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup Salt to taste 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder 2 tablespoons chopped spring onions (for garnish) Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well. Add water gradually and make a smooth batter. The batter should not be too thick or too thin. It should be of pouring consistency. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Dip the cauliflower florets in the batter and coat them evenly. Drop the cauliflower florets in the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pan. Fry the cauliflower florets in batches. Drain the fried cauliflower florets on a paper towel. In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and ginger and sauté for a few seconds. Add chopped onion, capsicum, and green chilies. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are cooked but still crunchy. Add soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, salt, and black pepper powder to the pan. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the fried cauliflower florets to the pan and toss them in the sauce until they are coated evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot with steamed rice or noodles. Tips for our Gobi Manchurian Recipe: Make sure to wash and dry the cauliflower florets thoroughly before using them.
