Tomato Chutney – Quick and Delicious Recipe

Ingredients:

  • · 1 Tsp. Of Oil
  • · 1 Tsp. Of Rai/Black Mustard Seeds
  • · 1 Tsp. Of Jeera/Cumin Seeds
  • · Crushed 1 Chopped Green Chili & 1 Inch Ginger & 4-5 Garlic Cloves
  • · 1 Small Chopped Onion
  • · Salt as Per Your Taste
  • · 2 Chopped Red Tomatoes
  • · 1 Tsp. Crushed Whole Black Pepper
  • · ¼ Tsp. Haldi/Turmeric Powder
  • · ½ Tsp. Garam Masala/Mixed Spices
  • · ¼ Tsp. Hing/Asafetida
  • · 2 Tbsp. Of Water
  • · 1 Tsp. Of Jaggery/Gud

Method to prepare:

In an Okli/Mortar Crush 1 Chopped Green Chili and 1-inch Ginger and 4-5 Garlic cloves

  • · Pre-Heat a Fry Pan
  • · Add 1 Tbsp. of Oil
  • · Add 1 tsp. of Rai/Black Mustard Seeds
  • · Add 1 tsp. Jeera/Cumin Seeds
  • · Add the crushed chili/ginger/garlic paste
  • · Sauté it well
  • · Add 1 Chopped Onion
  • · Add Salt as per your taste
  • · Cook it under a lid for 2-3 Minutes
  • · Remove the lid and give a good mix
  • · Add 2 Chopped Red Tomatoes
  • · Add 1 tsp. Crushed Whole Black pepper
  • · Add ¼ Tsp. Haldi/Turmeric Powder
  • · Add ½ Tsp. Garam Masala/Mixed Spices
  • · Add ¼ Tsp. Hing/Asafetida
  • · Add around 2 tbsp. of Water
  • · Give it a good mix
  • · Cook it under a lid for 5 Minutes
  • · Remove the lid and add 1 tsp. of Jaggery/Gud
  • · Slightly Mash it with the ladle or a masher.
  • · Give it a good mix
  • · Cook it finally under a lid for 2-3 Minutes
  • · Remove the lid and serve it hot with Roti/Chapati/Flatbread
