Cauliflower Fritters/Gobi ka Pakoda – Quick and Easy Evening Snack

Ingredients for the Batter:

  • · 1.5 Cup of Gram flour/Besan
  • · 1 Tsp. of Red Chili/Lal Mirch Powder
  • · 1 Tsp. of Turmeric/Haldi Powder
  • · Salt as per your taste
  • · ½ Tsp. of Hing/Asafetida
  • · ½ Cup of Water

Ingredients for the Spices:

  • · 1 Tbsp. of Salt
  • · 1 Tbsp. of Dhaniya/Coriander Powder
  • · 1 Tbsp. of Lal Mirch/Red Chili Powder
  • · 1 Tbsp. of Amchur/Dry Mango Powder
  • · ½ Tbsp. of Haldi/Turmeric Powder
  • · ½ Tbsp. Of Garam Masala/Mixed Spices

Ingredients for the Fritters/Pakoda:

  • · 6-7 Boiled Cauliflower bulbs
  • · ½ tsp. Hing/Asafetida
  • · Oil to deep fry
  • Method:
  • · Take a Mixing Bowl and Add 1.5 Cups of Gram flour/Besan
  • · Add 1 Tsp. of Red Chili/Lal Mirch Powder
  • · Add 1 Tsp. of Turmeric/Haldi Powder
  • · Add Salt as per your taste
  • · Add ½ Tsp. of Hing/Asafetida
  • · Pour Water Slowly into the mixing bowl to get the batter to a flowing consistency
  • · Take another bowl and add 1 Tbsp. of Salt
  • · Add 1 Tbsp. of Dhaniya/Coriander Powder
  • · Add 1 Tbsp. of Lal Mirch/Red Chili Powder
  • · Add 1 Tbsp. of Amchur/Dry Mango Powder
  • · Add ½ Tbsp. of Haldi/Turmeric Powder
  • · Add ½ Tbsp. Of Garam Masala/Mixed Spices
  • · In a Mixing Bowl Add 6-7 Boiled Cauliflower bulbs
  • · Mix the spices and add it over the Cauliflower bulbs and mix them well.
  • · Keep it under a lid for a minute or two
  • · Remove the lid and add ½ Tspn of Hing/Asafetida
  • · Give it a good mix
  • · Pre-Heat a Kadai and add oil to deep fry, we have to double fry these Fritters/Pakoda.
  • · Dip the cauliflower bulbs into the gram flour/besan batter and deep fry the bulbs till semi cooked
  • · On a Flat surface, Press the Fritters/pakoda with some weight and then re-fry them until fina; golden color is received.
  • · Serve it hot with mint chutney or tomato sauce/ketchup
